Crypto Price Today: Bitcoin nears $20,000; Solana, Polkadot and Avalanche gain up to 7%

The global cryptocurrency market cap was trading decently higher at the $994.1 billion mark, surging almost 2 per cent in the last 24 hours. However, the total trading volume dropped more than 5 per cent close to $73.39 billion.

New Delhi: Crypto tokens continued to move higher on Friday. Bitcoin moved towards the key level of $20,000 but could not touch it again.

Ethereum's Merge, which will shift the protocol from proof-of-work to a more energy-efficient proof-of-stake protocol, is roughly a week away.

All the top tokens, even the stablecoins, were trading with strong gains on Friday. Solana rallied about 7 per cent, whereas Polkadot and Avalanche gained 5 per cent each.

Some investors are looking at Terra classic and Luna classic as some lottery tickets to make big money in a short span but investors should thoroughly study the fundamentals to take an informed decision.
