NEW DELHI: In range-bound movements, zinc prices edged down by 0.05 per cent to Rs 109.85 per kg in futures trade today as speculators adopted a cautious approach ahead of monthly expiry.

Subdued spot markets demand also kept pressure on the zinc futures prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in July traded lower by 5 paise, or 0.05 per cent, to Rs 109.85 per kg, with a business turnover of 2,118 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in August moved down by 5 paise, or 0.05 per cent, to Rs 110.75 per kg, with a business volume of 248 lots.

Market analysts said a weakening trend in the base metals at the spot markets amid absence of positive cues from global market, mainly put pressure on zinc futures prices.
