NEW DELHI: Zinc futures prices today edged higher to Rs 121.95 per kg amid a positive global trend and better domestic demand, as speculators created positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in April up by 20 paise, or 0.16 per cent, to Rs 121.95 per kg, with a business turnover of 1,011 lots.

The metal for delivery in May also rose by 5 paise, or 0.05 per cent, to Rs 122.70 per kg, with a business turnover of five lots.

Marketmen said besides improved demand in the spot market, a firming trend in copper and other base metals overseas, supported the upside in zinc prices at futures trade.
