Wheat rises on increased offtake

NEW DELHI: Wheat prices strengthened by Rs 10 per quintal at the wholesale market here today on increased offtake by flour mills.

Traders said rise in wheat prices was mostly due to increased offtake by flour millers, but higher supplies from new crop in the mandies limited the gains.

Prices of other grains held steady on lack of worthwhile buying activity.

Wheat dara (for mills) strengthened by Rs 10 to Rs 1,510-1,555 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery traded higher by the same margin to Rs 1,515-1520 per 90 kg.
