Wheat prices up on scattered buying by flour mills
In restricted activity, wheat dara prices rose by Rs 10 per quintal in the wholesale grains market today on scattered demand from flour mills.
Bajra and maize also moved up on increased demand. Marketmen said scattered buying by flour mills mainly helped wheat dara prices to rise.
They said increased demand against restricted arrivals led to a rise in bajra and maize prices.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) rose by Rs 10 to Rs 1,550-1,560 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded higher by the same margin to Rs 1,560-1,565 per 90 kg.
Bajra and maize also gained Rs 15 each to Rs 1,245-1,250 and Rs 1,335-1,355 per quintal, respectively
