Wheat prices move up on increased demand

Wheat dara prices continued to be in demand and closed with gains at the wholesale grain market here on Monday after the government announced hike in minimum support price for the grain.

NEW DELHI: Wheat dara prices continued to be in demand and closed with gains at the wholesale grain market here on Monday after the government announced hike in minimum support price for the grain.

Other commodities too rose in line with wheat.

Market men said increased demand from stockiest and rolling flour mills amid restricted supply from producing regions mainly led to the rise in wheat dara prices.

Wheat dara rose from Rs 1035-1040 to close at Rs 1045-1050 a quintal on restricted supply while wheat MP maintained last levels at Rs 1300-1625 a quintal.

Chakki atta mill delivery moved up from Rs 1038-1048 to finish at Rs 1050-1055 per 90 kilo bag.

Rolling flour mills price also found fresh support at Rs 1045-1050 against Rs 1040-1045 per 90 kilo bags.
