Wheat price eases on selling pressure

Wheat dara price dropped by Rs 10 per quintal on the wholesale grain market on Saturday on lack of buying amid selling pressure by stockist.

NEW DELHI: Wheat dara price dropped by Rs 10 per quintal on the wholesale grain market on Saturday on lack of buying amid selling pressure by stockist.

Atta chakki and rolling flour mills also fell by Rs 5 each per 90 kg bag.

Marketmen said reports that the government released four lakh tonne of wheat to check price rise led to the fall in wheat prices.

Slackness in buying against increased supply, largely brought down wheat prices, they added.

Wheat dara skipped from Rs 1,130-1,145 to close at Rs 1,125-1,135 a quintal, while wheat MP deshi remained flat at Rs 1,300-1,600 a quintal.

Rolling flour mills and atta chakki prices too slipped by Rs 5 each to traded at Rs 1,120-1,125 and Rs 1,115-1,120 a 90 kilo bags respectively.
