Wheat extend gains as demand picks up
Traders said besides rising demand, tight supplies from producing belts mainly kept wheat and few other bold grain prices higher.

Traders said besides rising demand, tight supplies from producing belts mainly kept wheat and few other bold grain prices higher.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) advanced by Rs 10 to Rs 1,635-1,640 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and enquired higher by a similar margin to Rs 1,640-1,645 per 90 kg bag.
Other bold grains like, bajra and barley too strengthened to Rs 1,165-1,170 and Rs 1,625-1,635 from last close of Rs 1,120-1,125 and Rs 1,575-1,585 per quintal respectively.
Maize edged up to Rs 1,300-1,305 from Rs 1,275-1,295 per quintal. Jowar yellow and white also ended higher at Rs 1,375-1,400 and Rs 2,350-2,475 as against previous levels of Rs 1,300-1,375 and Rs 2,300-2,450 per quintal respectively.
