Wheat declines on adequate supply

wheat prices declined by Rs 10 per quintal on the wholesale grains market on reduced offtake by flour mills.

NEW DELHI: In limited deals, wheat prices declined by Rs 10 per quintal on the wholesale grains market today on reduced offtake by flour mills against adequate supplies from producing belts.

However, other grains continued to trade in a tight range in scattered deals and settled around previous levels.

Marketmen said reduced offtake by flour mills against adequate stocks position mainly kept pressure on wheat prices.

In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) declined by Rs 10 to Rs 1,590-1,595 per quintal, while atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded lower by the same margin to Rs 1,595-1,600 per 90 kg.
