Watermelon kernel prices up on fresh demand

NEW DELHI: In restricted activity, prices of watermelon kernel firmed up in the wholesale kirana market on Thursday due to short supply amidst increased demand.
However, prices of other spices continued to move in a tight range in the absence of market moving factors and settled around previous levels.
The volume of business was restricted. Traders said restricted supply against increased local demand mainly fuelled upsurge in watermelon kernel prices.
Watermelon kernel prices spurted to Rs 6,300-6,400 from previous close of Rs 6,100-6,200 per quintal.
