Turmeric, jeera up on fresh buying support

Turmeric and jeera (cumin) prices rose up to Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital today on fresh buying by retailers and stockists amid low stocks.

NEW DELHI: Turmeric and jeera (cumin) prices rose up to Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital today on fresh buying by retailers and stockists amid low stocks.

Restricted arrivals from producing belts also supported the upside in prices.

Turmeric prices rose by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 6,400- 9,600 per quintal.

Jeera common and jeera best quality also increased by Rs 200 each to conclude at Rs 14,700-14,900 and Rs 17,500-18,000 per quintal, respectively.

Traders said buying support from retailers and stockists against restricted arrivals from producing regions mainly pushed up turmeric and jeera prices in the wholesale kirana market here.
