Thoor dal, Urad dal prices move up, gram dal down

CHENNAI: The prices of thoor dal, urad dal increased, while those of gram dal declined. Rest all other commodities' prices remained unchanged in the wholesale foodgrains market here on Monday.

Thoor dal rose steeply by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 7,300 from its previous rate to Rs 7,100.

Urad dal moved up by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 5,800 from Rs 5,700.

Gram dal declined by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 4,100 from Rs 4,200.

Moong dal, Sugar, Wheat, Maida and Sooji prices ruled steady.

The following are the wholesale rates of various agri- commodities on Monday (in rupees per quintal, except where stated otherwise): Thoor Dal Rs 7,300,Urad Dal Rs 5,800, Moong Dal Rs 7,600, Gram Dal Rs 4,100, Sugar Rs 3,100, Wheat Rs 2,200, Maida (90 kg) Rs 2,150 and Sooji (90 kg) Rs 2,250.
