Thoor dal and sugar move up

CHENNAI: The prices of thoor dal and sugar went up while those of other commodities ruled steady in the wholesale foodgrains market here today.

Thoor dal opened the week with a sharp increase of Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 7,500 from Rs 7,300 traded last week.

Sugar edged up by Rs 30 per quintal from its previous close of Rs 3,150 to Rs 3,180 today.

Urad dal, Moong dal, Gram dal, Wheat, Maida (90 kg) and Sooji (90 kg) remained unaltered.
