With fair demand, selected orthodox well made teas fetched premium prices. Mediums sold at barely steady to occasionally dearer with quality by Rs one, the sources said.
Brighter liquoring CTC teas met some upcountry demand and were barely steady to dearer, particularly smaller grades. CIS exporters lent selective support on medium bolder grades, while other CTCs recorded firm to dearer by Rs one to Rs two per kg.
While Orthodox dust teas saw enquiry from internal buyers and a few exporters, with prices behaving irregular, fair general demand pushed ctc dust, which ruled firm to dearer by Rs one to Rs 1.50.
Best orthodox brokens quoted Rs 69 to Rs 84, medium brokens Rs 46 to Rs 48 and fannings Rs 43 to Rs 45, good ctc brokens ruled rs.49 to rs.52, fannings rs.47.50 to rs.50, medium ctc brokens rs.43 to rs.46 and fannings rs.42.50 to rs.47 per kg.
Best CTC dust quoted rs.54 to rs.62, good rs.49 to rs.56, medium at Rs 43 to Rs 46 to Rs 49, while medium orthodox dust ruled Rs 35 to Rs 47, they said.
Of the total offerings of about 6.12 lakh kg, dust comprised 4.30 lakh kgs, the sources said. PTI
