Sugar settles steady on sporadic demand, adequate stocks

NEW DELHI: In thin trading, sugar prices after hovering in a tight range on little doing, settled at previous levels at the wholesale market today.

Ample stocks position following persistent supplies from millers also influenced sentiments.

Marketmen said besides ample sugar stocks, scattered demand from stockists and bulk consumers such as soft-drink and ice-cream maker, mainly kept the sweetener prices on previous note.
