Sugar prices up

CHENNAI: Sugar moved up, rest all other commodities remained unchanged in the whole sale foodgrains market here on Monday. Sugar edged up by Rs 20 per quintal to Rs 2,180 from Rs 2,200.

Thoor dal, urad dal, moong dal, gram dal, wheat, maida and sooji were maintained at their previous levels.

Following are the today's rates per quintal: Thoor dal Rs.6,050, urad dal Rs.5,400, moong dal Rs.5,350, gram dal Rs.2,600,sugar Rs.2,200, wheat Rs.1,500, Maida (90 kgs) Rs.1,400 and Sooji (90 Kgs) Rs.1500.
