NEW DELHI: Sugar prices hardened by Rs 30 per quintal in the wholesale sugar market at national capital today following restricted supply amid fresh buying support.

Marketmen said less arrivals from mills against pick up in demand from stockist and retailers mainly pushed up sweetener prices.

Ongoing marriage season demand also helped the trading sentiment to some extent, they said.

Sugar mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices improved to Rs 2860-3180 and Rs 2850-3150 from Rs 2860-3150 and Rs 2850-3120 per quintal.

In millgate section, Dorala and Dhanora rose by Rs 25 each to Rs 3025 and Rs 2990 per quintal.

Sugar Mawana, Khatuli and Dhampur gained by Rs 15 each to Rs 2920, Rs 2990 and Rs 2980 per quintal, respectively.
