Sugar prices trade up on higher advices

NEW DELHI: Sugar prices improved by Rs 20 per quintal in the national capital today following higher mills advices as well as restricted supply.

Marketmen said thin arrivals and higher advices by mill owners mainly pushed up millgate prices.

Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices rose from Rs 3160-3300 and Rs 3150-3275 to settle at Rs 3170-3320 and Rs 3160-3290 per quintal.

Among millgate section, sugar Budhana, Nazibabad and Thanabhavan all moved up by Rs 10 each to finish at Rs 3245, Rs 3180 and Rs 3245 per quintal.

Sugar Khatuli also gained by Rs 15 to conclude at Rs 3245 per quintal.

The following were today's quotations per quintal: Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,350-3,480, S-30 Rs 3,325-3,450. Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,170-3,320; S-30 Rs 3,160-3,290. Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana 3260, Kinnoni 3,335, Asmoli 3,280, Dorala 3,260, Budhana 3,245, Thanabhavan 3,245, Dhanora 3,240, Simbholi 3,300, Modi Nagar 3,230, Khatuli 3,245, Dhampur 3,225, Ramala 3,190, Bulandshar 3,230, Anupshar 3,170, Baghpat 3,200, Morna 3,190, Sakoti 3,210, Chandpur 3,220, Amroha 3,220 and Nazibabad 3180.
