Sugar prices show mix trend

Mixed tendency witnessed in wholesale sugar market at national capital today as sugar ready gained Rs 20 on increased festival demand.

NEW DELHI: Mixed tendency witnessed in wholesale sugar market at national capital today as sugar ready gained Rs 20 on increased festival demand while sugar millgate prices fell by Rs.60 on fresh selling.

Marketmen said increased demand from sweet and soft-drink makers for the ongoing festival season mainly pushed up sugar ready prices.

They said sugar millgate prices declined on fresh offloading into the domestic markets.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices moved up from Rs.3550-3660 and Rs.3525-3640 to Rs.3550-3680 and Rs.3525-3660 per quintal, respectively.

On the other hand, millgate sugar including duty section, from ramala, Anupshar and Nazibabad all lost Rs.60 each to all settle at Rs.3340 per quintal.
