Sugar prices rise amid global cues
Sugar prices moved up in the range of Rs 25-50 per quintal in the wholesale sugar market on buying by stockists amid strong global cues.
Sugar ready medium and second grade shot up to Rs 1,525-1,625 and Rs 1,515-1,610 per quintal respectively on increased offtake.
Mill delivery medium and second grade too traded higher at Rs 1,320-1,500 and Rs 1,310-1,490 per quintal respectively.
In the millgate section, Modinagar and Mawana finished higher at Rs 1,460 and Rs 1,480 per quintal respectively.
Baghpat and Titabi were too in demand and rose to Rs 1,405 and Rs 1,480 per quintal respectively.
Following were the quotations per quintal (in Rs): Sugar ready M-30 1525-1625 and S-30 1515-1610. Mill delivery M-30 1320-1500 and S-30 1310-1490. Sugar mill gate prices (excluding duty): Modinagar 1460, Bagpat 1405, Daurala 1430, Chandpur 1370, Titabi 1480, Mawana 1480, Simbhawali 1430, Khatauli 1465, Badaiun 1340, Sattha 1350, Ruderavilash 1355, Bijnor 1420 and Amroha 1415 and Samali Rs 1420.
