Sugar prices fall on huge stocks position

NEW DELHI: The wholesale sugar prices dropped by Rs 20 per quintal in the national capital on Thursday following easy availability of stocks amid regular supply from mills.

However, ongoing marriage season demand somewhat managed to cap the losses to some extent, they said.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices eased by Rs 10 each to settle at Rs 3260-3410 and Rs 3240-3390 per quintal, respectively.

Similarly, mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices fell by Rs 10 each to Rs 3180-3320 and Rs 3160-3300 per quintal.

Among millgate including duty section, sugar mawana, budhana and dhanora all dropped by Rs 20 each to Rs 3305, Rs 3290 and Rs 3275 per quintal, respectively.

The following were on Thursday quotations per quintal: Sugar ready: M-30 3,260-3,410, S-30 3,240-3,390. Mill delivery: M-30 3,180-3,320; S-30 3,160-3,300. Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana 3305, Kinnoni 3375, Asmoli 3335, Dorala 3270, Budhana 3290, Thanabhavan 3290, Dhanora 3275, Simbholi 3350, Modi Nagar 3260, Khatuli 3260, Dhampur 3245, Ramala 3190, Bulandshar 3240, Anupshar 3180, Baghpat 3220, Morna 3200, Sakoti 3220, Chandpur 3240, Amroha 3245 and Nazibabad 3180.
