Sugar prices fall on heavy stocks

NEW DELHI: The wholesale sugar prices softened by Rs.30 per quintal in the national capital today following regular supply from mills sparked by huge ready stocks in the markets.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices moved down from Rs.3280-3380 and Rs.3260-3360 to conclude at Rs.3260-3350 and Rs.3240-3330 per quintal respectively.

Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices also dropped from Rs.3160-3250 and Rs.3140-3230 to finish at Rs.3150-3225 and Rs.3130-3210 per quintal.

Among millgate section, Mawana, Khatauli and Simbholi all dipped by Rs.30 each to settle at Rs.3220, Rs.3210 and Rs.3300 per quintal.

The following were today quotations per quintal: Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,260-3,350, S-30 Rs 3,240-3,340. Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,150-3,225; S-30 Rs 3,130-3,210. Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana Rs 3220, Kinnoni Rs 3330, Asmoli Rs 3265, Dorala Rs 3215, Budhana Rs 3225, Thanabhavan Rs 3225, Dhanora Rs 3210, Simbholi Rs 3300, Modi Nagar Rs 3200, Khatuli Rs 3210, Dhampur Rs 3200, Ramala Rs 3170, Bulandshar Rs 3200, Anupshar Rs 3150, Baghpat 3185, Morna Rs 3170, Sakoti Rs 3185, Chandpur NT, Amroha NT and Nazibabad Rs 3155.
