Sugar prices ease on ample supply

NEW DELHI: Sugar prices fell by Rs 20 per quintal in the national capital today on ample supply from mills against restricted buying.


Marketmen said increased selling by millers created huge stocks position in the markets and pulled down the sugar prices.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices eased from Rs 3,230- 3,330 and Rs 3,220-3,310 to end at Rs 3,220-3,320 and Rs 3,210-3,300 per quintal.

Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices also lean down from Rs 3,090-3,200 and 3,080-3,175 to close at Rs 3,080-3,180 and Rs 3,070-3,160 per quintal.

Among millgate section, sugar Modinagar slipped by Rs 20 to Rs 3,130 per quintal, Dhanora and Bulandshar also moved down by Rs 15 each to Rs 3,135 and Rs 3,120 per quintal.

The following were today's quotations per quintal: Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,220-3,320, S-30 Rs 3,210-3,300. Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,080-3,180; S-30 Rs 3,070-3,160. Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana 3145, Kinnoni 3,255, Asmoli 3,230, Dorala 3,150, Budhana 3,155, Thanabhavan 3,150, Dhanora 3,135, Simbholi 3,240, Modi Nagar 3,130, Khatuli 3,140, Dhampur 3,110, Ramala 3,100, Bulandshar 3,120, Anupshar 3,080, Baghpat 3,110, Morna 3,100, Sakoti 3,110, Chandpur 3,100, Amroha 3,115 and Nazibabad 3090.
