Sugar millgate prices marginally up on fresh buying

In an otherwise steady wholesale sugar market, millgate prices improved marginally by Rs 10 per quintal in the national capital today.

NEW DELHI: In an otherwise steady wholesale sugar market, millgate prices improved marginally by Rs 10 per quintal in the national capital today following fresh buying by stockist and bulk consumers.

Marketmen said pick up in demand from stockist and bulk consumers such as soft-drink and ice-cream making industries against restricted supply from mills mainly pushed up sugar millgate prices.

On the other hand sugar spot prices ruled flat on small buying support.

In millgate section, sugar Modinagar, Kinnoni, Sakoti and Chandpur moved up by Rs 10 each to Rs 3125, Rs 3255, Rs 3100 and Rs 3080 per quintal, respectively.

Sugar Dhampur and Thanabhavan also rose by a similar margin to Rs 3090 and Rs 3135 per quintal, respectively.

The following were today's quotations per quintal: Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,200-3,280, S-30 Rs 3,190-3,260. Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,060-3,180; S-30 Rs 3,050-3,160. Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana 3145, Kinnoni 3,255, Asmoli 3,185, Dorala 3,135, Budhana 3,130, Thanabhavan 3,135, Dhanora 3,130, Simbholi 3,205, Modi Nagar 3,125, Khatuli 3,125, Dhampur 3,090, Ramala 3,080, Bulandshar 3,100, Anupshar 3,060, Baghpat 3,090, Morna 3,080, Sakoti 3,100, Chandpur 3,080, Amroha 3,100 and Nazibabad 3070.
