Sugar millgate price up on increase buying

Marketmen say restricted supply from mills against increased buying interest from stockist and bulk consumers mainly pushed up sugar millgate prices.

NEW DELHI: Sugar millgate price rose on the wholesale sugar market here on Saturday following reduced arrivals from mills amid better buying interest and closed higher by Rs 15 to Rs 25 per quintal.

Marketmen said restricted supply from mills against increased buying interest from stockist and bulk consumers mainly pushed up sugar millgate prices.

Among mill gate section, Sugar Modi Nagar quoted higher at Rs 1,400, baghpat looked up at Rs 1,345, duarala traded higher at Rs 1,410 and chandpur finished higher at Rs 1,360 a quintal respectively on increased offtake.

Titabi moved up to settle at Rs 1,430, Mawana at Rs 1,415 and Simbhawali edged up to finish at Rs 1,405 a quintal respectively.

Badaiu, quoted higher at Rs 1,320, Sattha at Rs 1,330 and Ruderavilash yielded higher at Rs 1,345 a quintal respectively.
