Sugar held steady in thin trade

NEW DELHI: The wholesale sugar market ended on a flat note on Tuesday as sugar prices moved in a tight range after bulk consumers and stockists preferred to adopt a cautious approach and kept their activities restricted at previaling levels.

Traders said activity remained extremely restricted ahead of allocation of sugar quota for next month by the government, keeping prices at previous levels.

Following are today's rates in Rs per quintal: Sugar ready M-30 2,970-3,040 and S-30 2,960-3,030. Mill delivery M-30 2,780-2,880 and S-30 2,770-2,870. Sugar mill gate prices (excluding duty): Kinonni 2,780, Asmoli 2,750, bundki 2,800, Dhanora 2,750, Kashipur 2,730, chandanpur 2,700, mawana 2,850, titabi 2,750, rani nangal 2,730, ramala 2,720, Samali 2,780, malak narain 2,760, Thanabhavan 2,750, Budhana 2,770, Dorala 2,750, Khatauli 2,800, Chuwara 2,700, Nanota 2700, sakoti 2770, tikola 2750, monnet 2750.
