Sugar declines on subdued demand

Sugar prices declined further at the Vashi wholesale market here today on subdued demand from stockist and retailers.

MUMBAI: Sugar prices declined further at the Vashi wholesale market here today on subdued demand from stockist and retailers.

Small sugar ( S-30) slipped by Rs 24/33 per quintal to Rs 3,542/3,592 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 3,566/3,625.

Medium sugar ( M-30) dipped by Rs 20 per quintal to Rs 3,606/3,771 as against Rs 3,626/3,791 yesterday.

The following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,542/3,592 (Rs 3,566/3,625).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,606/3,771 (Rs 3,626/3,791).
