Spices board to support farmers with marketing

KOCHI: Spices Board is helping cardamom, clove and nutmeg farmers, who have been hit by price volatility, by providing them marketing opportunities in upcountry markets.

The board said it will give slots for farmers and farmer groups to participate in national and international shows in India to showcase their products. Growers get better returns by selling these spices at a higher price in the upcountry markets.

The board will provide a platform for the growers in the forthcoming AHAR international trade fair to be held in Delhi from March 14 to 18. During the India international trade fair held in Delhi in November last year, 20 representatives from cardamom organisations had participated.
