Soyameal exports up by 13 pc in March

NEW DELHI: Soyameal exports rose by 13 per cent to 4.61 lakh tonnes in March against 4.09 lakh tonnes in the same month last year, according to the industry data.

However, exports declined by 7 per cent during the first six months of 2011-12 oil year (October-September) at 27.85 lakh tonnes against 29.97 lakh tonnes in the corresponding period of previous oil year, according to data compiled by the Indore-based Soybean Processors Association of India.

Vietnam, Thailand, Japan and Indonesia are the major importers of Indian soyameal.
