Soyabean futures tumble on brisk selling

Soyabean prices drifted by Rs 87.50 to Rs 3,865 per quintal in future trade today on heavy selling by traders.

NEW DELHI: Soyabean prices drifted by Rs 87.50 to Rs 3,865 per quintal in future trade today on heavy selling by traders in tandem with weak overseas market cues.

Marketmen said tracking weak global markets sentiment, traders preferred to off load their holdings.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, soyabean for most active near May contract looked down by Rs 87.50, or 2.21 per cent to Rs 3,865 per quintal, depicting an open interest of 1,05,800 lots.

Current April contract also followed by Rs 69, or 1.70 per cent to Rs 4,000 per quintal witnessing an open interest of 7,710 lots.
