Silver futures up on spot demand

Silver prices rose by Rs 348 to Rs 54,405 per kg in futures trading today on rising demand in spot market supported by ongoing marriage season.

NEW DELHI: Silver prices rose by Rs 348 to Rs 54,405 per kg in futures trading today on rising demand in spot market supported by ongoing marriage season.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in December rose by Rs 348, or 0.64 per cent to Rs 54,405 per kg, with a business turnover of 12,140 lots.

In a similar fashion, the metal for delivery in March contract moved up by Rs 323, or 0.58 per cent to Rs 56,154 per kg, with an open interest of 1,019 lots.

The fresh rise in silver futures attributed to pick up in demand in the spot market following ongoing marriage season.
