Sharp rise in sugar prices on good demand

Prices of sugar firmed up sharply on the Vashi Wholesale Market here due to good demand from retailers.

MUMBAI: Prices of sugar firmed up sharply on the Vashi Wholesale Market here on Tuesday due to good demand from retailers.


Poor supply from mills also affected the market sentiments.

Small sugar quality (S-30) shot up by Rs 45/55 per quintal to Rs 1545/1600 from the previous closing level of Rs 1500/1545.

Medium sugar quality (M-30) also firmed up by 30/56 Rs 1590/1655 per quintal as against Rs 1534/1625 previously.
