Select pulses prices remain weak on ample supply
Prices of select pulses such as urad, moong, gram and kabli gram decline further on ample supplies amidst reduced offtake by retailers.
Marketmen said adequate stocks position following increased arrival from producing region and fall in demand from retailers mainly pulled down the prices of select pulses.
They said sliding trend in vegetables too had negative impact on the prices.
Urad Maharashtra and Rangoon were lost Rs 50 each at Rs 1900-2450 and Rs 2300-2350 a quintal on increased arrival. Its dal chilka local and best quality followed suit and traded lower at Rs 2650-2750 and Rs 2950-3150 while dhoya local and best quality softened to Rs 2950-3100 and Rs 3200-3400 a quintal respectively.
Moong (Rajasthan) remained down at Rs 1850-2050 from Rs 1900-2100 quintal and Its dal chilka local and best quality receded to Rs 2700-2800 and Rs 2900-3200 a quintal respectively.
Gram slipped further to Rs 2325-2350 against last closing of Rs 2350-2400 quintal and its dal (local) shed Rs 25 at Rs 2600-2650 a quintal.
Kabli gram small variety also receded to Rs 2650-3150 a quintal on reduced offtake by retailers.
