Select grains rise on pick up in demand

Traders said pick up in demand amid lower arrivals from producing region mainly pushed up wholesale bold grain prices.

NEW DELHI: Select grain prices rose by up to Rs 25 per quintal in the wholesale grains market today on pick up in demand against restricted arrivals from producing belts.

In the national capital, bajra edged up by Rs 5 to Rs 1,185-1,195, while jowar yellow and white moved up by Rs 25 each to Rs 1,275-1,300 and Rs 2,100-2,300 per quintal, respectively.

Maize and barley were also enquired higher by Rs 10 each to Rs 1,395-1,405 and Rs 1,350-1,365 per quintal, respectively.
