Weakening trend was witnessed in wholesale grains market today, as rice basmati and other grains drifted up to Rs 100 per quintal on reduced offtake following fall in demand.

NEW DELHI: Weakening trend was witnessed in wholesale grains market today, as rice basmati and other grains drifted up to Rs 100 per quintal on reduced offtake following fall in demand.

Traders said adequate stocks position against fall in demand mainly pulled down select wholesale grains prices.

In the rice section, basmati common prices fell by Rs 100 to Rs 5,400-5,500 per quintal.

Jowar yellow and white moved down by Rs 100 each to Rs 1,300-1,400 and Rs 2,350-2,400, while barley lost Rs 20 to Rs 1,080-1,100 per quintal.
