Select edible oils remain weak on increased selling

Neem oil in the non-edible section, went up on increased industrial demand.



New Delhi: Trading pattern remained unaltered on the oils and oilseeds market today as select edible oils declined further on persistent selling by stockists against reduced demand and closed with losses.

Traders said increased selling by stockists and reduced demand from retailers led to fall select edible oil prices.

In the edible section, groundnut mill delivery oil lost Rs.100 at Rs.6900 a quintal on bad demand from refining mills.

Groundnut solvent refined (per tin) followed suit and quoted lower at Rs.1200-1225.

Cottonseed mill delivery shed Rs.10 at Rs.4630 a quintal.

On the other hand, neem oil gained Rs.100 at Rs.3300-3400 a quintal on increased offtake from soap makers.

Following were today's quotations per quintal:

Oilseeds: mustard seed 1825-1960 and cottonseed not available.

Vanaspati ghee (15 litres tin) 800-900.

Edible oils: Groundnut mill delivery 6,900, Groundnut Solvent refined (per tin) 1200-1225, Mustard Expeller 4540, Mustard Pakki ghani (per tin) 715-735, Mustard kachi ghani (per tin) 755-870, Sunflower 4,030, Sesame mill delivery 5140, Soyabean Refined mill delivery 5,000, Soyabean degum (Delhi) 4,900, Crude Palm Oil (Ex-kandla) 4,180, Cottonseed mill delivery 4,630, palmoline (RBD) 4700, Rice bran (phy) 4,000 and coconut (per tin) 900-910.

Non-edible oils: linseed 4600 Mahuwa 4200, castor 4600-4750, Neem 3300-3400, Rice bran 3400-3450 and palm fatty 3050-3100.

Oil cakes: groundnut dehusk 770-820, Sesame 900-1100, Mustard 670-680 and Cottonseed 850-1000.
