MUMBAI: Most of the base metals gained at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockists buying amidst good demand from industrial users.

Globally, the industrial metal was trading flat in early trade on supported by easier policies in Europe and China and ahead of a key US labour report.

Nickel and tin rose by Rs 5 per kg each to Rs 1,100 and Rs 1,495 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 1,095 and Rs 1,490.

Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper armiture, copper wire bar and brass sheet cutting all moved down by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 478, Rs 471, Rs 452, Rs 506 and Rs 341 from Rs 476, Rs 469, Rs 450, Rs 504 and Rs 339, respectively.

Copper utensils scrap, brass utensils scrap and aluminium utensils scrap inched-up by a Re per kg each to Rs 430, Rs 328 and Rs 137.

However, zinc softened by a Re per kg to Rs 185.
