Sakthi Sugars buys Intermet Europe

MUMBAI: Sakthi Sugars has acquired a group of companies from US-based Intermet International for an undisclosed amount.
The company's wholly-owned subsidiary, Sakthi Auto Component Ltd (SACL), has acquired a group of companies called "Intermet Europe" from Intermet International, Sakthi Sugars informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Intermet Europe owns and operates two plants in Germany and one plant in Portugal and is engaged in the business of manufacture of precision castings in ductile iron for automotive industry.
The total production capacity of Intermet Europe is 1,65,000 MT per annum.
The shares of Sakthi Sugars were trading at Rs 92.25, up 2.96 per cent on the BSE.
