Rubber production falls in June and July this year
Blame it on heavy rains that caused abnormal leaf fall, rubber production in the country plummeted during June and July this year.

The total rubber stock at the end of September 30 remained at 2,30,000 tonnes, around 23,000 tonnes below the stock at the end of last year. And with no sign of any upturn in production and tyre manufacturers turning overseas, natural rubber imports look set to touch a new record this year.
"Increase in tapped area and high moisture content in the soil may increase the rubber production in the coming months," said Sheela Thomas, chairman, Rubber Board.
