Rice sela, bajara slips on increase supply

Rice sela and bajra prices declined in the range of Rs 10 to Rs 50 a quintal on the wholesale grain market on Saturday.

NEW DELHI: Rice sela and bajra prices declined in the range of Rs 10 to Rs 50 a quintal on the wholesale grain market on Saturday on increased arrivals amid restricted offtake.

Marketmen said selling pressure from stocks amid increased supply from producing regions mainly pulled down rice sela, ir-8 and bajra prices.

Elsewhere, rest other grains prices maintained overnight closing levels on sporadic deals.

In rice section, sela price moved down from Rs 1,850-1,950 to settle at Rs 1,825-1,900 a quintal on slackness in demand.

Rice ir-8 too slipped from Rs 1,200-1,300 to conclude at Rs 1,200-1,250 a quintal on increased supply.

Bajra price too met with resistance on sluggish demand and traded lower at Rs 600-620 instead of Rs 610-630 a quintal.
