NEW DELHI: Prices of rice basmati fell by Rs 30 per quintal in an otherwise steady wholesale grains market on Thursday due to stockists selling against subdued demand.

Generally, movements in wheat and other grains remained restricted in the absence of worthwhile activity.

Marketmen said increased selling by stockists in the face of subdued demand, led to fall in rice basmati prices.

In the national capital, rice basmati common new and rice pusa (1121) new fell by Rs 30 each to Rs 7,870-7,970 and Rs 7,720-8,370 per quintal, respectively.
