Refined soya oil futures fall on sluggish demand

NEW DELHI: Refined soya oil prices fell by Rs 8.25, or 1.61 per cent, to Rs 503.80 per 10 kg in futures trading today, as speculators reduced their positions, driven by fall in demand at spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange platform, refined soy for October-month fell by Rs 8.25, or 1.61 per cent, to Rs 503.80 per 10 kg, with an open interest of 45 lots.

The oil for delivery in September declined by Rs 6.35, or 1.24 per cent, to Rs 505.10 per 10 kg, with an open interest of 740 lots.

Marketmen said speculators reduced their positions due to fall in demand in the spot market, mainly led to a fall in refined soya oil prices at futures market here.
