Punjab procures 58.90 lakh MT
Punjab has procured 58.90 lakh MTs of wheat till now, of which 53.22 lakh MT was purchased by the state government agencies, an official spokesperson said here on Monday.

CHANDIGARH: Punjab has procured 58.90 lakh MTs of wheat till now, of which 53.22 lakh MT was purchased by the state government agencies, an official spokesperson said here on Monday.
Pungrain, Markfed, PUNSUP, PSWC and PAIC all the five state government agencies had procured 10,55,425 MT, 12,21569 MT, 11,70714 MT, 6,51,559 MT and 6,21821 MT of wheat respectively, which was 88.5 per cent of the total wheat procured by the government.
He said 6,11,734 MT of wheat was bought by Food Corporation of India till April 29, whereas 5,57,215 MT of wheat was procured by the traders.
