Prices of select commodities improve

Prices of gram dal, wheat and sooji went up but urad dal declined and other commodities remained unchanged in the wholesale foodgrains market.

CHENNAI: Prices of gram dal, wheat and sooji went up but urad dal declined and other commodities remained unchanged in the wholesale foodgrains market here on Monday.

Gram dal went up by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 3,100 from previous rate of Rs 3,000. Wheat moved up by Rs 50 per quintal to Rs 1,500. Sooji edged up by Rs 25 per 90kg to Rs 1,525 against previous rate of Rs 1,500.

Urad dal moved down by Rs 50 per quintal to Rs 3,700 from Rs 3,750.

Thoor dal, moong dal, sugar and maida remained unaltered from their previous rates.

Following are today's rates per quintal: thoor dal Rs 4250, urad dal Rs.3,700,moong dal Rs.3,500, gram dal Rs.3,100, sugar Rs.1,400,wheat Rs.1,500, maida (90 kgs) Rs.1,420 and sooji (90 kg)
