Prices of select commodities firm up in Chennai market

CHENNAI: Prices of select commodities like thoor dal, urad dal and sooji firmed up, while gram dal eased in the wholesale foodgrains market here on Saturday.

However, other commodities like moong dal, sugar, wheat, and maida remained unaltered.

Both thoor dal and urad dal rose by Rs 50 each per quintal to Rs 4150 and Rs 3750 respectively over the previous levels.

Sooji (90kgs) also moved up by Rs 50 to Rs 1,600 from Friday's Rs 1,550, while gram dal dipped by Rs 30 per quintal to Rs 2,750 against Friday's rate of Rs 2,780.
