Prices of moong dal, gram dal, sugar down

Prices of moong dal, gram dal, sugar and maida moved down, while thoor dal went up during the week ending on Saturday on the wholesale foodgrains market.

CHENNAI: Prices of moong dal, gram dal, sugar and maida moved down, while thoor dal went up during the week ending on Saturday on the wholesale foodgrains market.

Gram dal, which opened at Rs 3,000, moved down at the end of the week to settle at Rs 2,950, against previous week's rate of Rs 3,050 with a net gain of Rs 100 per quintal.

Both moong dal and sugar edged down by Rs 50 each per quintal to Rs 4,600 and Rs 1,900. Maida slid by Rs 30 per 90 kgs to Rs 1,450 from Rs 1,480.

Thoor dal went up by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 4,850 against the previous week's rate of Rs 4,750.

Urad dal (Rs 4,600), wheat (Rs 1,550) and sooji (Rs 1,600) were traded at their previous week's rates.
