NEW DELHI: On the eve of Diwali, consumers can take heart from onion, potato and apple prices, which have declined in the wholesale market, while rates of almost everything else are skyrocketing on increased festival demand.

Marketmen said that onion and potato prices moved down due to hike in supply amid reduced offtake. On tomatoes, reduced supply from south and Madhya Pradesh mainly pulled up their prices, they added.

In fruits, apple prices dipped due to rise in supply from Kashmir, while orange and banana prices remained flat.
