Potato futures weaken 0.12 per cent on adequate supply

The potato for delivery in August fell marginally by 40 paise, or 0.05 per cent, to Rs 728.60 per quintal in 369 lots.

NEW DELHI: Potato prices weakened by 0.12 per cent to Rs 684.60 per quintal in futures trading today owing to slackened demand against adequate supplies on increased arrivals from producing region.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for delivery in September traded lower by 80 paise or 0.12 per cent, to Rs 684.60 in business turnover of 195 lots.

Likewise, the potato for delivery in August fell marginally by 40 paise, or 0.05 per cent, to Rs 728.60 per quintal in 369 lots.

Market analysts attributed weak potato futures to subdued demand in the spot market against adequate supplies from producing belts.
