Potato futures up 1.26% on rising demand

Potato futures up 1.26% on rising demand
NEW DELHI: Potato prices recovered by 1.26 per cent to Rs 1,063.90 per quintal in futures trade today on mostly in tune with a firming trend in the spot market on increased demand, driveen by ongoing 'Navratras' festival.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for May contract rose by Rs 13.30, or 1.26 per cent to Rs 1,063.90 per quintal, with a trading volume of 32 lots.

The delivery for delivery in June also traded higher by Rs 10.40, or 0.97 per cent, to Rs 1,075 per quintal with a business volume of 40 lots.

Marketmen said the rise in potato prices at futures trade was attributed to the rising spot demand on account of Navratras festival.
