NEW DELHI: Potato futures prices today rose by Rs 25.70 to Rs 1,304 per quintal, amid a firming trend at spot market for 'Navrata' against fall in arrivals from the producing region.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato prices for delivery in June climbed Rs 25.70, or 2.01 per cent, to Rs 1,304 per quintal in business turnover of 85 lots.

The potato for delivery in April contract rose by Rs 17, or 1.71 per cent, to Rs 1,010 per quintal in 316 lots.

Marketmen said firming trend at spot market on pick up in demand driven by ongoing 'Navrata' festival mainly pushed up potato prices at futures market here.

Fall in arrivals from producing also supported the uptrend in potato prices, they said.
